Please note: dancers not dressed properly for specialty ballet classes will be asked to observe class.

Dance Etiquette

PROGRESS:
A student’s personal progress and overall class performance are directly impacted by regular attendance. Classes will begin promptly as scheduled, and students are expected to arrive 10 minutes before class in proper dance attire.
ATTIRE:
Students must wear tights, leotards, and proper shoes for each class. Dance shorts and skirts may be worn over tights and leotards, but these should not interfere with movement.
Important Dress Code Notes:

• Dance Shoes: Please ensure your dancer changes into their dance shoes in the dressing room before and after class, not outside.
• Labeling: Label all dance shoes and personal items. The Margie Shortt Dance Studio is not responsible for lost items.
• Unacceptable Attire:
  • T-shirts, bare legs, tights with holes or runs, or missing dance shoes.
  • Hair should be secured in a bun, ponytail, or neatly fastened back to avoid interfering with class.

LESSONS:
If a class is missed, it can be made up in another class within 30 days. Please contact the studio office for your make-up lesson day and time.
