Hair Dancers must have hair pulled back in a neat bun for all specialty ballet classes.  ​ ​

Please note: dancers not dressed properly for specialty ballet classes will be asked to observe class.

Dance Etiquette

​PROGRESS: A student's personal progress, ​as well as class performance, is a reflection on proper attendance. Class will begin promptly as scheduled. Students are expected to arrive 10 minutes before class in proper dance attire. Tights, leotards and proper shoes are required for each class your dancer participates in. Dance shorts and skirts may be worn over tights and leotards. 

ATTIRE: Please have your dancer change dance shoes i​n dressing room before and after dance class as opposed to wearing the dance shoes outside to and from the dance studio. Label your dance shoes. The Margie Shortt Dance Studio is not responsible for lost articles.  

Tights, Leotards and Proper Shoes are required for each class.

Unacceptable - T-shirts, bare legs, tights that have many holes or runs in them, or no dance shoes. Hair must be secured back into a bun, ponytail, or neatly fastened back to avoid interfering with dance training. 

LESSONS: A missed lesson can be made up in another class. Contact the studio office for your make-up day and time.  Please call if your dancer is ill of cannot attend a dance class.  Make-up lessons may not be used in place of tuition or made up after withdrawing from the Margie Shortt Dance Studio.  There are no refunds for classes not taken. Missed classes should be made up within 30 days.
